 How do I generate ER diagrams?

1. download and install GraphViz on the computer where you are running
SqlSpec. you can get it here: http://www.graphviz.org

2. run the SqlSpec GUI, and enter some connection strings to your
databases you want to document.

3. on the "options I" page, make sure the "graph all objects" box is
checked if you want to generate one big ERD with all the objects
in the database in one diagram.

4. If you want to make an ERD with a subset of the objects in your database,
then do this: on the "options II" page, in the "Data model diagrams" box, type a
name for your ERD into the textbox next to the "new" button and then
click the "new" button. This should pop a dialog with a list of all
the objects in your database. Then you choose what objects you want
to be in the diagram by moving them to the right hand list.

5. click the "Go" button.
